True or False
True/false questions test your recognition of facts and concepts—of whether the information stated is TRUE or FALSE.
Read Carefully
- Read the entire statement
- If the statement has more than one part, identify these parts
- Test each part for truth
- If any one part is false, the entire statement is false
Qualifiers
- These are the same words to watch for in Multiple Choice questions
- Words such as: sometimes, rarely or almost
- These qualifiers generally make a statement TRUE
- Strong qualifiers such as always or never generally indicate a FALSE statement
Watch for Negatives
- These are words like not and cannot
- Read the statement without these words and see if you can decide on TRUE or FALSE
- Add the negative, and the correct answer would then be the opposite
- And remember, two negatives make a positive!
