Objectives

Our objectives at CIRN have been to serve the development of research, theory, and practice related to narrative across various disciplines by the following means:

• a peer-reviewed, open-access, interdisciplinary digital journal
• an annual public lecture by a well-known narrative scholar
• participation in the planning of biannual Narrative Matters conferences
• workshops on narrative practice forthe NB-Atlantic community in fields such as social work, education, journalism, therapy, ministry, healthcare, psychology, gerontology, and oral history
• a resource centre with journal articles, books, and other resources on narrative themes and approaches in a variety of disciplines
• support for faculty, students, and members of the public interested in narrative concepts and approaches
• academic courses and/or modules on narrative themes
• links and exchanges with centres, institutes, or networks - world-wide - which are dedicated to research on narrative and related topics
• an online bibliography of books, articles, and other resources dealing with narrative ideas and approaches
• a network of research associates in various disciplines at St. Thomas University and beyond who employ narrative ideas and approaches in their research, teaching, or practice
