Virtual Volunteering with Peru: March 6-10

A virtual volunteer experience for STU students, funded through our Global Skills Opportunity funding with Nexos Comunitarios, a non-profit organization based out of Peru that works towards sustainable service learning. The week will have 2-hour sessions Monday-Friday during March Break. 

 

Add this volunteer experience to your resume: a global experience that will show your intercultural development to employers and graduate schools.

Schedule

  • Monday, March 6: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM 
    Peru: the country, its people, their soul, history, and current affairs overview
  • Tuesday, March 7: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM 
    Reconciliation process in Peru and its relation with the rest of the world
  • Wednesday, March 8: 11:15 AM - 1:15 PM 
    People Need People (PNP) session: PNP offers a different space for all of us to listen a story and perceive it differently. This session is in conjunction with St. F.X. University students.
  • Thursday, March 9: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM 
    Community session: a cultural exchange between Canadians and Peruvians.
  • Friday, March 10: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM 
    Ecology of Food and Peruvian cooking class: participants will receive a packet of ingredients to learn how to make a traditional Peruvian dish.

 This virtual global volunteering will count towards STU's Certificate in Experiential Learning and Community Engagement
