Advice for Selecting and Contacting Referees

Applicants to the program are advised to read this section carefully prior to selecting their referees. Please contact your referees well in advance of the deadline, outline the process, and direct them to the Guidelines for Referees.

 

When completing your application for the Bachelor of Education program, you will be asked to indicate information about your referees, including full name, and contact information. You should select referees who can attest directly to your ability to work with young people, preferably in the age group you hope to teach.

When you submit your application, you referees will receive an automated email from admissions@stu.ca notifying them of your reference request. Please note, reference request emails may filter to an "other" or "junk" folder. 

Referees will be asked to complete the online form and upload a letter of reference. When your reference has been submitted successfully, the document checklist on your applicant portal will be updated in real time. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all reference documents are submitted by the deadline.
