Research

Dr. Fenwick’s main research interest is in the field of developmental psychology, focusing on both children and adolescents. Her research has addressed perceptual development in infants; the development of reading skills in children, with a focus on both first and second language learning; and children as eye-witnesses. Her most recent research is on the topic of adolescents’ tanning behaviour, including reasons and motivations to tan.

In addition to her research on children and adolescents, Dr. Fenwick has studied the topic of stress in university professors and related variables.

Dr. Fenwick is also interested in the study of Psychology and the Law and co-authored the book Witnesses and the law, which covers topics such as the fallibility of memory, post-traumatic stress disorder, repressed memory, body language, mug shots, police line-ups, generation y, children as eye-witnesses and police interview techniques.
