Traditions - Indigenous Storytelling Through Food

"Traditions: Indigenous Storytelling Through Food" is a two-day event that will bring Indigenous Chefs Joseph Shawana and Amy Pelletier to campus to offer students and Dining Services staff the chance to learn about - and taste - Indigenous food and dishes.

 

Indigenous Food Systems Training

October 2 @ 9AM-10AM |  Dawn Russell Lounge, James Dunn Hall

 

Join us for an education session and storytelling about Indigenous food systems, pre and post colonialism, led by Chef Joseph Shawana, who is Odawa, part of the Three Fires Confederacy and Wolastoqiyik Chef Amy Pelletier, from Madawaska Maliseet First Nation.

 

Open to anyone on the STU Campus who wishes to join (students, staff, faculty, community members)

 

Indigenous Lunch

October 3 @ 11AM-2PM |  GMH Dining Hall

 

Join us to taste a themed menu prepared by special guest Chef Joseph Shawana, who is Odawa, part of the Three Fires Confederacy, and Wolastoqiyik Chef Amy Pelletier, who is from Madawaska Maliseet First Nation, along with the STU Dining culinary team.

 

Open to anyone (students, staff, faculty) Included for meal plan holders, special $10 door rate for anyone wishing to pay at the door.
