Registration Open for 2023 Intersession and Summer Session

Students are now able to browse and register for Intersession and Summer Session courses. There is a range of courses available. Please be sure to notice which courses are being offered in person and which are being offered remotely. 

  • Intersession: May 1 – June 22
  • Summer Session: July 4 – August 11

Registration
 

Current students who are registered in the 2022-23 academic year do not need to re-apply and may proceed directly to registering for courses through STU Self Service.

Admission

 

New students must be admitted to a program of study before registering. Information on the application process is available at Future Student Admission or by contacting the Admissions Office at 506-452-0532 or admissions@stu.ca 

 

Visiting students coming from another university, taking courses at STU for transfer credit back to their home institution, should, in addition to seeking admission, provide the Registrar’s Office with a letter of permission from their home institution.  You will register at STU as non-degree students.

Registration Steps

1. BROWSE COURSES


The list of course offerings is available at STU.ca/registrar or by viewing on STU Self Service.


2. REGISTER

Students can register for Intersession or Summer Session courses online using the STU Self Service system. The term 23/I1 represents Intersession (May to June) and 23/I2 represents Summer Session (July to August). Please note the start and end dates listed on each course to determine exact course date.

3. PAY TUITION AND FEES

Payment of tuition fees must be made at Financial Services prior to the start of classes.

Cost (including all fees) for Canadian students are as follows.

  • 3 credit-hour course $807.00 + $30.00 fees = $837.00
  • 6 credit-hour course $1,614.00 + $60.00 fees = $1,674.00

Cost (including all fees) for International students are as follows.

  • 3 credit-hour course $1,641.00 + $30.00 fees = $1,671.00
  • 6 credit-hour course $3,282.00 + $60.00 fees = $3,342.00

Note: Audit (non-credit) option available at half fees

Note:  Applicants sixty years or older are eligible for a rebate of 50% of normal tuition fees.


Awards

Students who were not full-time during the 2022-2023 academic year may be eligible for part-time awards. For details on the Scoudouc River Continuing Education Awards for part-time students, please ask at the Registrar’s Office.


Program Approval

All students should ensure that their choice of courses is approved for their degree or certificate program. For information on prerequisites and any other registration restrictions, please consult the online academic calendar and/or check with the chair of the relevant department.


Course Load


Students are limited to a maximum course load of twelve credit hours in Intersession (May - June) and twelve credit hours in Summer Session (July - August).


Changes in Registration

Students can withdraw online any time before the start of courses. After the start of classes, students are required to notify the Registrar’s Office in writing if they withdraw from a course. No withdrawals will be accepted after 10 hours of scheduled class meetings. Partial refunds should be arranged with Financial Services. No refunds will be issued for withdrawal from courses after the deadline for academic penalty.
