Black Box Productions, St. Thomas University’s home for theatre, is thrilled to welcome STUdents and members of the community to audition for the 2022-2023 season.
All are welcome! No experience necessary.
Black Box Productions will be hosting four productions/festivals this year including:
-
Fourth Annual Plain Site Theatre Festival: November 17-19, 2022 - Curated by Alex Rioux in partnership with Solo Chicken Productions and Black Box, Plain Site is New Brunswick’s premier 2SLGBTQIA+ theatre festival dedicated to promoting queer focused storytelling and visibility by providing emerging artists and students a safer space to develop their craft under the guidance of established 2SLGBTQIA+ artists.
-
The Other Dean’s List: December 1-2, 2022 – A sketchy sketch comedy show, directed by STU and Second City Alum Jake Martin, that ‘is worth zero credit hours’.
- The Fofana Kingdom: February 2-6, 2023 - A devised creation directed by STU Alum, artist, activist, and educator Saa Andrew Gbongbor, The Fofana Kingdom takes you back to the ancient way of life in Africa as a lens to view the clash of globalization and immigration in the modern current era. A play you must witness.
- Mr. Information: March 16-18, 2023 - A new logic bending, digitally inspired pantomime with music written by STU student Noah Deas and directed by STU Alum Nathanael Telman.
