Dr. Caissie is presently writing (in collaboration with Dr. Debbie van den Hoonaard) on how the Zoomer Magazine constructs aging. Similarly, she is currently working on a project that is examining how More Magazine constructs gender and aging. Dr. Caissie is also working in collaboration (with Dr. Debbie van den Hoonaard and Marilyn Noble) on a study that will examine the meaning of retirement for baby boomer women in New Brunswick.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Caissie’s teaching and research interests include sociology of aging, gender and aging, images of older adults in the media, cultural aging, qualitative methods, feminist and critical gerontology, and narrative gerontology.
