Experiential learning is an important part of our model of education that emphasizes the integration of theory and practice. We want to give you an opportunity to put your knowledge to work in professional settings that will help you develop skills and gain experience.

Certificate in Experiential Learning

We offer a Certificate in Experiential Learning and Community Engagement that you can complete during your undergraduate degree. The Certificate will serve as tangible evidence of the hands-on learning and community service you completed during your studies and is a great resource that can be used to demonstrate your professional experience and analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills to potential employers or graduate schools.

Internships

We aim to combine your in-class learning with an opportunity to develop professional skills through paid and/or accredited work placements. These works placements offer you the opportunity to become career-ready and build community connections during your degree, while supporting private, public and non-profit organizations in New Brunswick.

Recently, our students have interned with Ignite Fredericton, the CBC, the Office of the New Brunswick Child and Youth Advocate, Opportunities New Brunswick, Fenix Media, the Fredericton Community Foundation, and the Chalmers Foundation, among other companies and organizations.

For-Credit Experiences

The majority of our programs include a practical component in their course work—this means you'll gain experience and earn creadit toward your degree! Represent a country at the Harvard Model United Nations, get courtroom experience as a member of our Moot Court team, act in a Musical Theatre production, study and research artifacts, or take part in a travel-study.
