The Third Age Centre is presenting: "What can the Seniors’ Advocate do for you?" featuring Gavin Kotze from the Office of the Seniors’ Advocate. During this virtual event, Gavin will speak about the role of the Office and what it can do for you. Set up on July 1, 2017, the mandate of the Office is to ensure that the rights and interests of New Brunswick seniors are protected.
After the talk, Gavin will take questions and respond to complaints that you might like to take to the Seniors’ Advocate.

Gavin Kotze is a lawyer whose area of practice is human rights. He is presently Director of Systemic Advocacy for the New Brunswick Child, Youth and Seniors’ Advocate. In that capacity he has led many reviews of systems and services that impact children and youth, and has brought a focus on human rights to issues in various areas such as youth criminal justice, child welfare, health and education. He is an instructor of Human Rights at the University of New Brunswick Law School, and Child and Youth Rights at St. Thomas University. He has a Master of Laws degree with a specialization in human rights from the University of London, UK. Gavin is Chair Emeritus of the Constitutional and Human Rights Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association’s New Brunswick branch, and has presented at conferences on a wide range of human rights topics throughout Canada, from Newfoundland to British Columbia to Nunavut and points between.
