Third Age Centre Conference: Eradicating Ageism

In honour of the International Day of Older Persons, the Third Age Centre is hosting a half day conference, Eradicating Ageism, on October 1 at 1PM (Doors open at 12PM).

The conference will include keynotes by guest speakers Dr. Janice Keefe, Professor and Chair of Family Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University and Dr. Deborah van den Hoonaard, Sociologist and Professor Emerita at St. Thomas University. Dr. Keefe will speak on “Exposing our Ageist Society and What We Can Do About It.” Dr. van den Hoonaard will speak about “Learning to be Old: Ageism in Everyday Life.”

A panel discussion will follow the guest speakers.

The conference will take place at Journey Church at 131 Duncan Lane in Fredericton, NB and will cost $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Special rates are available for students.
