'Kotuwihtun Makerspace

‘Kotuwihtun = “to make” in Wolastoqey 

 

Indigenous students are invited to the Wabanaki Student Centre on Fridays to learn, collaborate, and use the ‘Kotuwihtun Makerspace. A makerspace is a collaborative work area for making, learning, exploring, and sharing in a communal way.


What the ‘Kotuwihtun Makerspace offers: 

  • Sewing machines, both mechanical and computerized
  • 3D printer
  • Cricut Maker 3
  • Handheld heat press
  • Large heat press
  • Mug heat press
  • Coming soon: mobile beading supplies cart 


At these sessions, the Future Wabanaki Coordinator will be at the Centre. She has experience making: ribbon shirts/skirts/vests, moccasins, medicine bags, beadwork, digital art, leather working/painting, and many other crafts. She is there to assist, teach, and help you create,
