Course offered: ITAL 2033. Italy Travel-Study: Introduction to Italian Civilization
This travel study tour of Italy offers a harmonious blend of culture and countryside. It presents an overview of Italian civilization from its origins to the present day. Discover the beauty of Italy as a major influence of western civilization and the humanities. Highlights include: Venice (4 nights) including the islands of Murano and Burano, and a day trip to Verona; Florence (4 nights) including a gastronomic tour of the Chianti wine region; Rome (11 nights) including Vatican City and a day trip to Pompeii. This course offers participants a unique immersion into Italian art, architecture, cuisine, history, music, fashion and current events. (Taught in English, 3 credits. Knowledge of the Italian language is not required. No prerequisite required)
This is a “come when you can; leave when you must” information session. Questions answered and details provided for itinerary, course outline, payment and registration.
Travel Dates: June 23- July 13 2020.
Cost: $2950.00 includes: registration, tuition for 3 credit hours of class instruction, transfer fees airport-hotel, hotel accommodation (double occupancy), all breakfasts, one pizza lunch in Venice, one lunch and wine tasting in Chianti region, one group banquet in Rome, all transportation between cities and local transit within cities (train, bus, metro), all entrance fees to museums, sites, and cultural events (including Vatican Museums and Pompeii).
Cheques are written out to “St Thomas University” and are submitted to Dr. Temelini.
Full payment is due on or before Friday March 13th 2020.
