Join us for a gathering of remembrance for National Indigenous Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 6 in the Great Hall.
Following an opening ceremony with our Elder in Residence, Ron Tremblay, Chancellor Graydon Nicholas, and Future Wabanaki Coordinator Chelsea Harris-Carr, a Gallery Walk will be open to students and the campus community all day in the Great Hall. The Gallery Walk will honour 10 Indigenous soldiers who were killed in action in the first and second world war whose graves were visited by Chelsea Harris-Carr and STU students in France.
National Indigenous Veterans Day, which occurs annually on November 8, is a memorial day observed in Canada in recognition of Indigenous contributions to military service.
