Dr. Denis Kennedy, Associate Professor of Political Science at the College of the Holy Cross, will deliver the second Global Studies Seminar, titled "Governing Humanitarianism: Rules, Identity, and Exclusion in Relief Work," on Tuesday, March 10 at 2:30 PM in McCain Hall room 204.

DESCRIPTION:

The seminar will trace the development of the global humanitarian system and of the rules governing aid work. It focuses on the complexities that arise when principled actors work in unprincipled situations, on the harm that can paradoxically result, and on the approaches to reforming the system.
