Clarinet and Piano performance by Philippe Prud'homme and Jean-Guy Boisvert
7:00 PM
McCain Hall room 101
The Fine Arts Department at St. Thomas University is pleased to present a clarinet and piano performance by Montreal pianist Philippe Prud'homme and clarinetist Jean-Guy Boisvert, Thursday, March 12 at 7:00 PM in McCain Hall room 101.
All are welcome and admission is FREE.
Together Philippe Prud'homme and Jean-Guy Boisvert will perform five suites by composers Nicolas Gilbert, André Hamel, Martin Kutnowski, and Samy Moussa. This very eclectic program ranges from avant-garde aesthetics (Hamel), Argentine tango (Kutnowski), poetic post-modernism (Gilbert), and ends with a look at the Baroque era revisited (fantasy on Corelli's Folia).
These works are part of the vast project "La belle aventure", a series of commissions from twenty Canadian composers, intended for young performers.
