Career Info Session on Media and Journalism with Jocelyn Heenan

Are you considering a career in journalism? Join Senior Producer for CBC New Brunswick, Jocelyn Elsdon Heenan, to learn about her education and career path in this field as well as her perspective on the current media industry.

An award-winning producer and journalist, Jocelyn is currently a lecturer with St. Thomas University and teaches Documentary Film in the Digital Media program. She graduated from McMaster University with Combined Honours in English and Political Science and went on to get a post-graduate in Journalism/ New Media at Sheridan College.

As Senior Producer for CBC New Brunswick, Jocelyn works closely with journalists across the province to deliver news on all platforms. She most recently led CBC New Brunswick’s coverage of the 2024 Provincial election and produced the live broadcast special that aired on television, YouTube, and Gem. 

Previously, she has worked for CTV National News as a producer and writer, CTV’s Canada AM as a producer, and with CBC’s The National as a field producer where she was able to work with some of the best journalists across the country.
