Gain Experience at STU: Extracurricular Activities

There are many ways to be involved in the STU community outside of your classroom. This virtual event will highlight some of the ways in which our students are involved in their community through various initiatives. This includes being involved in clubs and societies, being on the athletics teams, volunteering in and around the Fredericton community, and advocating for social justice and social responsibility. Talk with current STUdents, staff members, and alumni to get a better sense of how STUdents can get involved in extracurricular activities, while balancing their academics, career development, and personal lives. With an interactive Q&A period at the end, this panel is the perfect opportunity for parents and supporters alike to have all of their questions answered about the enriching opportunities at STU!
Gain Experience at STU: Experiential Learning and Campus Jobs

At St. Thomas University, what you learn in the classroom is complemented by experiential learning. Through paid internships, credit-based internships, on-campus job opportunities, and volunteer experiences, STUdents are able to cultivate and refine skills, while also expanding their networks and learning about themselves.
This virtual event is aimed at giving future STUdents and their supporters a sense of the experiential learning opportunities available to them at St. Thomas University, as well as the supports in place that will help them select and reflect on their professional development experiences. With no required first-year courses, first-year course registration at St. Thomas University allows you the flexibility to explore subjects about which you are passionate and interested.

This session will also provide an overview of the online application you will use to register in your own courses once course registration opens later this month.

This session also aims to answer your questions about university-level academics at STU, while also giving you advice and direction to ensure you make the most of your post-secondary studies here from day one. Current STUdents, faculty, and staff members will be on-hand to impart their wisdom and address any concerns you have before the start of the academic year. STUdents learn what options will be available to them, what advice current STUdents have for them, and what they may wish to consider as they navigate this new, exciting chapter in their lives.
