Dean of Humanities

Reporting to the Vice-President (Academic and Research), the Dean of Humanities is a senior member of the University’s academic administration and is directly responsible for the recruitment, professional development, and retention of University faculty members in:

  • Human Rights
  • Interdisciplinary Studies
  • Irish Studies
  • Native Studies
  • Journalism and Communications

  • School of Education

In some instances, the Dean of Humanities serves as the designate for the Vice-President (Academic and Research). The Dean of Humanities works collaboratively with the Vice-President (Academic and Research), the Assistant Vice-President (Research), the Dean of Social Sciences, and the Director of Human Resources.

The Dean of Humanities is also responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership to the Faculty of Humanities in collegial collaboration with full and part-time faculty, students and staff of the University.
